I sit down with Marshall from The Santa Fe Band.

I started playing guitar when I was 10 years old. Hard to believe that's been over 40 years ago. Music has always been a major part of my life as far back as I remember. I came from a musical family. My dad played guitar my grandparents and great grandparents and family before them. So I guess it can be said music is in my blood.
I have played all over this country. Got to meet some really cool people. Got to open up for some of the top acts in country music. To quote Charles Dickens,"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times." I remember talking with Ray Price once. The band I was with opened up for him here in Abilene. He was signing a buddy of mines guitar. He said," Watch it that thing will starve you to death if your not careful''. Then started telling us about his good times and bad times. It's what country music is all about. The good the bad and the ugly. Sounds like a Clint Eastwood movie. A good country song tells a story. It's about life. Sometimes it's good, Sometimes it's bad. It's all about how you deal with it. Making the most of what you got or in some cases not. One thing I have learned is life is what you make of it. If you want it to suck its going to suck. So I always try to remain positive. I love writing songs. Writing is my muse. I hear a good hook and I am off and running. Most of the songs here I wrote myself. There are a few collabs with other folks on lyrics. I love writing with other folks also. No cover tunes on here. I also did all the instrumentation and vocals. When I get an idea I will write it one day and record it the next. I have a small recording studio in my house. With a really nice little instrument collection. So I do it all myself. It just seems faster that way. Anyways hope you enjoy my catalog of songs. I really would like at this point in my life to be a writer than try and be a traveling musicians all the time. Would love it if someone would like to pick up some of my songs and record them on their albums. I love to collab with folks. If someone has a good ideal for a song and needs some help putting it together I have fun helping. Here lately I have overextended myself on some projects. But if its a good tune I will find a way to make it happen. Well if you like what your hearing here drop me a line. Love talking shop with folks. Also if you would come out and hear my band Santa Fe we would love it. Kyle, Kirk, Robert, and myself put on a pretty good show.
